What happens when you launch a website for a business that doesn’t exist yet, for a concept most people have never experienced?
If you do it right, you start getting reservations before you even open the doors.
That’s exactly what happened with Q’s Wine Bar, a self-serve wine bar in Carmel, Indiana.
Here’s how we built a Squarespace website that educated visitors, captured the vibe, and drove real results from day one.

Client: Q’s Wine Bar
Owner: Quynh
Location: Carmel, Indiana (Village of West Clay)
Industry: Hospitality / Wine Bar
Concept: Self-serve wine bar with a 28-drink wall
Service: Custom Squarespace Website Design
Q’s Wine Bar isn’t your typical bar.
Instead of ordering from a bartender, guests grab a wine card, browse a wall of 28 wines (plus craft beer and cider), choose their pour size (a 2 oz sip, 4 oz half glass, or full 6 oz pour) and serve themselves.
It’s wine tasting reimagined: elevated but easygoing, social but self-paced.
The problem? Most people have never been to a self-serve wine bar.
When Quynh came to us, the bar wasn’t even open yet. She needed a website that could:
No pressure, right?

We designed a custom Squarespace website that does double duty: it sets the mood and does the explaining.
The biggest risk with a new concept is confusion. If visitors don’t immediately understand how it works, they’ll bounce — or worse, feel intimidated and never show up.
We solved this with a clear “How It Works” section right on the homepage, walking guests through the four-step process:
Simple, visual, and impossible to miss. By the time someone finishes scrolling, they’re not confused; they’re actually excited to try it.

Quynh described Q’s Wine Bar as “elevated but easygoing.” The design needed to feel sophisticated enough to signal quality, but warm and approachable enough that people would actually want to hang out there.
We used a refined color palette, elegant typography, and lifestyle photography that communicates exactly what the experience feels like: good wine, good company, no pretense.
“I’ve received so many compliments on the beautiful website that matches the vibes and intentions of my business.”
That alignment between the website and the in-person experience is everything for a hospitality brand.

For a new concept, an FAQ page isn’t optional — it’s essential.
We built out a comprehensive FAQ covering everything from how the wine cards work to whether reservations are required. This reduces friction for curious visitors and cuts down on repetitive inquiries for Quynh and her team.

Beyond looking beautiful, Q’s website actually works for the business:
Menu page — A browsable menu so guests can preview the wine selection before they visit.
Events page — Showcases upcoming events and keeps regulars coming back.
Private events inquiry — A clear path for booking the space for private parties and gatherings.
Gift cards — Integrated gift card purchasing for an easy additional revenue stream.
Shop — E-commerce functionality built right into Squarespace.

Here’s the best part: the website launched before Q’s Wine Bar officially opened — and it immediately started working.
Reservation requests and private event inquiries came through the website before the doors were even open. That’s the power of a website that clearly communicates what you offer and makes it easy to take the next step.
For a brand-new business with a concept most people had never experienced, that early traction was huge. The website didn’t just look good — it built anticipation and converted curiosity into real interest.

Launching a new business is messy. Timelines shift, details change, and decisions get made on the fly.
“She was super patient as we worked through delays and unknowns of launching a new business.”
That patience and flexibility matter. A website for a business that doesn’t exist yet requires collaboration, adjusting as the menu gets finalized, the hours get set, and the photography comes in. We stayed nimble so Quynh could focus on actually opening her bar.
Squarespace was the right platform for Q’s Wine Bar for a few key reasons:
Beautiful out of the box — Squarespace’s design system makes it easy to create a polished, editorial look that fits the hospitality industry.
Built-in e-commerce — Gift cards and shop functionality without needing third-party plugins.
Easy to update — Quynh can update the menu, add events, and manage content herself without calling a developer.
Event and reservation-friendly — Clean pages for events, contact forms for inquiries, and integrations where needed.
For restaurants, wine bars, and hospitality brands, Squarespace is often the right call — especially when the owner needs to manage content themselves after launch.

If you’re opening a restaurant, bar, or hospitality concept and need a website that captures the vibe and drives reservations, let’s talk.
Whether you’re launching something brand new like Q’s Wine Bar or refreshing an established spot, your website should make people want to visit, and make it easy to book.
